Mission & Vision

The mission of the EI Lab is to advance the development of the next generation of intelligent informatics and e-health systems. By applying Best in Context^SM solutions to myriad healthcare challenges and markets, our goal is to help transform medical care delivery and informed clinical care. The EI Lab offers professional services and intellectual property development to innovate "intelligent" systems and solutions that:

• Interact with clinicians, patients, and industry;
• Engage clinicians and patients in shared decision making;
• Adapt to the user's needs and environment;
• Optimally deliver information and functionality according to context and individual or client, providing true Best in Context^SM solutions;
• Incorporate and learn from user and community feedback;
• Interconnect peer users; and
• Autonomously generate knowledge from "grass roots" industry and practice and patient experiences.

These systems and solutions leverage emerging technologies, best practice development methodologies and tools (including the integration of best partner or open source offerings where relevant or appropriate), and apply interdisciplinary thinking and resources from other fields that can improve and extend healthcare IT.

We believe that the mounting challenges in healthcare can benefit from the intelligent application of multiple disciplines and emerging trends in applying IT to solve complex and intractable problems. We visualize intelligent medical informatics systems and solutions delivering needed breakthrough solutions by generating substantive technological advances in application of clinical knowledge and outcomes, effectiveness and efficiency of care delivery, patient engagement, and predictive medicine. We develop and build systems and communities that enable informed communication between patient, provider, and industry in appropriate clinical context:
